S.F. No. 3167 - Town Meetings
Author: Senator Tony Lourey
Prepared by: Daniel P. McGowan, Senate Counsel (651/296-4397)
Date: March 11, 2010

The proposed bill would amend the requirement for signing the minutes of the annual town meeting. Under current law the minutes are required to be signed by the town clerk and by the judges. This change would substitute the moderator of the town meeting in place of the judges with the additional condition that if the town clerk is selected moderator, the minutes must also be signed by a town board supervisor in attendance at the meeting.
