Section 1 is a conforming amendment to section 4, which requires the Sentencing Guidelines Commission and the Departments of Public Safety and Corrections to consider consolidating certain redundant reports.

Section 2 requires criminal justice agencies submitting reports to the Legislature to submit an electronic rather than a printed report. Electronic reports must also be submitted to the Legislative Reference Library, the State Library, and the Minnesota Historical Society. In addition, the agency must submit one printed copy to the Legislative Reference Library.

Section 3 requires the Commissioner of Corrections to report to the Legislature by January 15 of each year on the implementation and effects of the felony DWI offense. The report must include the following information on felony level DWI offenders committed to the commissioner:

Section 4 requires the Sentencing Guidelines Commission and the Departments of Public Safety and Corrections to review their reports for possible consolidation to reduce the burden of their reporting requirements.

Section 5 repeals the following sections in Minnesota Statutes:
