S.F. No. 485 creates a health plan purchasing pool study group to study and make recommendations regarding the creation of a voluntary, statewide health plan purchasing pool that would provide affordable, fee-for-service health coverage to eligible Minnesota residents. Provides the make up of the study group. Requires the study group to make recommendations of the following issues related to the creation, maintenance, and funding of the statewide health plan purchasing pool:

This bill requires the study group to submit its report and draft legislation to the Legislature and the Governor by February 1, 2008. State agencies are required to provide the study group with any advisory staff services the study group considers necessary.
