S.F. No. 482 - Metropolitan Airports Commission
Author: Senator John Doll
Prepared by: Daniel P. McGowan, Senate Counsel (651/296-4397)
Date: April 10, 2007

Section 1 adds the mayors of Apple Valley, Bloomington, Burnsville, Eagan, Mendota Heights, and Richfield to the membership of the Metropolitan Airports Commission and specifically names the cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul as cities for whom the mayors are members of the Commission. The mayors of Minneapolis and St. Paul are currently included as members of the commission in the definition of a city.

Section 2 provides that the new mayors in section 1 are also those public officials who are not entitled to per diem for attending commission meetings, the same as other public officials under current law.

Section 3 specifically names the cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul as the cities from which the jurisdiction of a commission is determined rather than cross-referencing the definition of "city" as under the current law.

Section 4 is the repealer section repealing definitions of "city" and "city council" and that currently include only the cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul.
