S.F. No. 469 - Anoka County
Author: Senator Don Betzold
Prepared by: Daniel P. McGowan, Senate Counsel (651/296-4397)
Date: February 2, 2007

The proposed bill would amend the statute providing bonding for county libraries in Anoka County. Currently the maximum amount of bonds that may be issued by Anoka County in any year is limited to the lesser of .01 percent of the taxable market value of all taxable property in the county or $1,250,000. With this change, the county would not be subject to the latter limit and could issue bonds in an amount up to .01 percent of the taxable market value of the property, even if it did exceed the $1,250,000 current limit.
