The proposed legislation would add officers or employees of local public pension plans to the list of public employees who, when discovering evidence of theft, embezzlement, unlawful use of public funds, or property, misuse of public funds by a charter commission or any person authorized to expend public funds must promptly report to law enforcement and to the state auditor a detailed description of the alleged incident or incidents.
