S.F. No. 2100 - Social Work Licensure Modifications

S.F. No. 2100 modifies the Social Work Practice Act. Most of this bill is a recodification of Minnesota Statutes, chapter 148D. The substantive changes are as follows:

Section 2 adds to the definitions: "clinical supervision" and "graduate degree."

Section 11 requires a licensure by examination applicant for independent clinical social worker to have completed 360 clock hours in specified clinical knowledge areas. Specifies how this requirement may be satisfied. This section also requires an applicant for licensure by endorsement to meet the applicable licensure requirements and to submit the appropriate application fee.

Section 20 specifies the supervised practice requirements for licensed social workers.

Section 21 specifies the supervised practice requirements for licensed graduate social workers who do not practice clinical social work.

Section 22 specifies the supervised practice requirements for licensed graduate social workers who practice clinical social work.

Section 23 specifies the supervised practice requirements for licensed independent social workers.

Section 24 specifies the supervised practice requirements for licensed independent clinical social workers.

Section 25 specifies the requirements for social workers to be eligible to provide supervision.

Section 27 specifies the clock hours required.
