S.F. No. 201 - Designating Metropolitan Nursing Facilities for Reimbursement Purposes (The Delete-Everything Amendment)
Author: Senator Michelle Fischbach
Prepared by: David Giel, Senate Research (651/296-7178)
Date: April 9, 2003

S.F. No. 201 designates additional nursing facilities as metropolitan for reimbursement purposes.

The bill requires nursing facilities located in areas designated as metropolitan areas by the federal government to be included in the metropolitan category for the purpose of determining rate increases under current law and establishing rates under the new reimbursement system now under development. The bill applies only if this designation results in a higher level of reimbursement than the facility would otherwise receive.
