S.F. No. 164 - No Fault Auto Insurance Inflation Adjustments

The bill adjusts the following no fault auto insurance benefit dollar amounts in statute to reflect inflation, and provides for future periodic inflationary adjustments based upon the consumer price index for all urban consumers (CPI-U).

• Basic Economic Loss Benefit increased from $40,000 to $94,300.

• Medical Expense Loss Benefit increased from $20,000 to $62,900 per person.

• Income, Replacement Services, Funeral Expense, and Survivor's Loss Benefit Total increased from $20,000 to $31,400. That total represents the following benefit increases:

Lost Income weekly benefit increased from $250 to $600.

Funeral and Burial Expense benefit increased from $2,000 to $3,900

Survivor's Economic Loss weekly benefit increased from $200 to $300

Survivor's Replacement Services weekly benefit increased from $200 to $600

• Rehabilitation expense minimum liability increased from $1,000 to $3,100.

• Per person Personal Injury liability limit increased from $30,000 to $78,600.

• Property Liability increased from $10,000 to $31,400.

• Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist minimum coverage limit increased from $25,000 to $78,600.

• Limitation of Noneconomic Damages increased from $4,000 to $6,200.
