| S.F. No. 163 - Washington County Special Well Construction Areas (author's amendment) | |
| Author: | Senator Charles Wiger |
| Prepared by: | Kathleen Pontius, Senate Counsel (651/296-4394) |
| Date: | April 7, 2003 |
Section 1 provides that before signing an agreement to sell or transfer real property in Washington County that is not served by a municipal water system, the seller must provide a written statement to the buyer as to whether, in the seller's knowledge, the property is located within a special well construction area. If the general disclosure under the law with respect to unsealed wells is required, the disclosure under this new provision must be made regardless of whether the property is served by a municipal water system.
Section 2 contains an effective date of January 1, 2004. The bill would apply to transactions for which purchase agreements are entered into on or after that date.
