Secretary of the Senate, Senate Information Systems (SIS)

The Secretary of the Senate, Senate Information Systems (SIS) Office, provides technical equipment and support to Senate members and staff.   

 

Minnesota Senate website   Information displayed on the Minnesota Senate website is coordinated by the SIS office.
 
Duplicating Services   Copies are created for distribution to the public including legislative documents, contact information and details about Senate Members, employees, committees and caucuses, and other related publications.
 
Computer equipment, support and training   SIS staff provides computer equipment, support and training for Senate Members and employees.
 
Telephone Services   SIS staff provides telephone services for Senate Members and employees.
 

 

The Secretary of the Senate, Senate Information Systems Office (SIS), provides technical services to Senate members and employees. The SIS Office functions under the jurisdiction of the Committee on Rules and Administration, under the direction of the Secretary of the Senate. The SIS Office is responsible for computer support and training and acquires, distributes, and maintains Senate computer and duplicating equipment, software applications, and telephone systems.   

The Senate Information Systems (SIS) Office performs the following duties:

  • Provides access to and maintains the Local Area Network (LAN)
  • Provides computer and technical equipment to Senator Members and authorized staff
  • Provides support for a variety of software applications
  • Provides computer and technical training
  • Improves and maintains internal processes through programming and database tools
  • Provides telecommunications services
  • Provides administrative services including equipment and supply purchasing
  • Oversees functions of Senate Duplicating Office
