The Secretary of the Senate, Senate Information Office, services the public with information about the Minnesota Senate.
The Secretary of the Senate, Information Office, provides legislative information and production services to public and Senate members and employees. The Senate Information Office functions under the jurisdiction of the Committee on Rules and Administration, under the direction of the Secretary of the Senate. The Senate Information Office distributes information produced by the Senate Index Office, Journal page references produced by Senate Journal Production Office, and Senate Publications materials produced by Senate Publications Office. Other services include helping members of the public identify their legislators and answering general questions about the Legislature. In addition, staff members direct requests for information about other state departments and federal agencies to the appropriate sources. In addition, the Senate Information Office helps administer public relations functions on behalf of the Senate. These include the coordination and supervision of the Senate's State Fair booth, participation at the Education Minnesota annual conference, as well as the National Conference of State Legislators (NCSL) Legislators' Back to School Program. The Senate College Internship Program functions under the jurisdiction of the Senate Informatiion Office. The Information Office performs the following duties:
