State and Local Government Operations Jurisdiction

The Committee on State and Local Government Operations has jurisdiction over all bills creating a new state agency, substantially changing the organization of a state agency, transferring duties from one state agency to another. The committee also has jurisdiction over all bills relating to state administrative services, state administrative rulemaking procedures, state employee compensation, state employee labor relations, pensions and retirement, gambling, lotteries, parimutuel wagering, elections, ethical practices campaign financing, the structure of the Legislature, or redistricting seates in Congress, the Legislature or the Metropolitan Council. The committee also has jurisdiction over all bills relating to the powers of local and metropolitan governmental units.
